HeyEddi is building a Doomsday Box: one lean appliance for households that want their media, models, and network path under their own roof.
What it is
- Streaming — personal video and audio on your LAN, including connected TVs and speakers.
- Compute — Docker-friendly always-on services on Intel N100/N150 class silicon (ARM64 DIY path too).
- Local AI — on-box models that do not ship your prompts to a vendor cloud.
- Offline — knowledge archives and core services when the uplink is gone.
- Network — inline bridge or access-point mode, firewall, optional ad-tarpit, VPN-ready, and multi-box mesh for larger homes.
Why a list now
We are collecting interest before the Kickstarter campaign. You can join free ($0) or support campaign prep from $1. Site payments are not Kickstarter pledges.
Planned hardware stages
The campaign tests two options: Basic (N150 · DDR4) and Premium (N150 · DDR5). Basic boxes move through Super Early Bird ($399), Early Bird ($429), and Standard ($449), with retail context at $499; Premium runs $529 / $549 / $579 ($649 retail context). Household Duo and Mesh Trio packs (Basic) support multi-node homes. Full perk table lives on the project page.
